坂出港
坂出市は、香川県のほぼ中央に位置し、江戸時代より全国でも有数の塩田のまちとして栄えてきました。これに伴い、坂出港は塩の積出し港として発展しました。その後、番の州埋立に伴う大規模臨海工場の誘致、塩田跡地を活用した港湾開発等により、香川県の工業と坂出市の発展に大きく貢献しています。背後には、昭和６３年に世紀の大事業である「瀬戸大橋」が開通し、四国横断・縦貫自動車道の整備が図られるなど、四国の玄関口として、海陸の交通軸の結節点として重要な役割を担っています。
