Fukuyama Port
Fukuyama Port is located almost in the center of the Seto Inland Sea and has developed as the main port for the eastern region of Hiroshima Prefecture. The Fukuyama Port International Container Terminal, which came into service in 2005, has a quay measuring 170m in length with a water depth of -10m and another quay measuring 250m in length with a water depth of -10m. In addition to serving as one of the leading international logistics hubs in the prefecture, it has recently been put to multipurpose use, such as hosting events with visiting large sailing ships. Furthermore, Tomonoura, located on the west side of the port, is a scenic spot representative of the Seto Inland Sea National Park, and having flourished through trade with Japan and abroad since ancient times, it retains many historic sites and remains. In addition to access from the land side, Tomonoura can also be reached directly by anchoring at an offshore anchorage with a maximum water depth of -16m and going ashore by using a tender boat.
