Kochi Port

Kochi Port is located in the central part of Kochi Prefecture, and has long functioned as a vital maritime transportation hub connecting the Keihanshin region with southern Shikoku. It was designated a Major Port in 1951. In March 1998, Kochi Shinko (New Port, common name), an international trade port facing the Pacific Ocean, partially began operations in the Sanri district of Kochi Port. On May 23, 2014, the main berth newly began operations. Since its opening, the port has welcomed many domestic and international cruise ships.
