Noshiro Port
Noshiro Port is located in the northern part of Akita Prefecture, on the Sea of Japan side of the Tohoku region, and is a port with good access to various areas in the northern part of the prefecture. The mooring berth is deep at 13m in depth, with a length of 260m. The World Natural Heritage site "Shirakami-Sanchi" is close to the port, where an almost untouched primeval beech forest remains, allowing visitors to enjoy trekking amidst nature. Additionally, in Noshiro City, where Noshiro Port is located, there is a festival called "Noshiro Nebunagashi," where castle-shaped lanterns parade through the city accompanied by the sounds of flutes and drums every August. The following day, there are many highlights, such as burning and floating the "Shachi" lantern down the Yoneshiro River.
