Oigawa Port

Oigawa Port is located in central Shizuoka Prefecture and is a municipal port of Yaizu City, constructed by excavating the left bank of the mouth of the Oigawa River, a Class A river flowing into Suruga Bay. The port originally started as a supply base for gravel and sand shipped to various parts of the country, and it now serves as a distribution base handling petroleum products, heavy oil, and cement to meet the demand of the surrounding inland areas, as well as a handling hub for marine products such as sakura shrimp and whitebait, which are local specialties.
