Sendai-Shiogama Port (Sendai Area)

Sendai Port, part of Sendai-Shiogama Port, is a dug-in harbor whose port plan was formulated in August 1964, the same year in which the "Sendai Bay Area" was designated as a New Industrial City in March 1964, serving as a development base for coastal industries. Construction work began in December 1967, and the port opened in July 1971.
