Tottori Port
Tottori Port is located 6 kilometers northwest of Tottori City's downtown area in the eastern part of Tottori Prefecture, at the mouth of the Chiyo River, a Class A river. It was designated as a Major Port in 1975, and in 1990, the Chiyo District, equipped with one 10,000-ton berth and three 5,000-ton berths, began operation. The district is also equipped with one 25-ton lifting crane and two warehouses. Around the port, the seafood market "Karoichi" opened in 2002, the crab-focused experiential facility "Tottori Karo Kanikko-kan" opened in 2003, and the sales facility for "Tottori Prefecture, Capital of Food" called "Wattaina" opened in 2011, making the entire port area increasingly lively. In 2007, an earthquake-resistant berth was constructed, enabling emergency evacuation and other measures in the event of a large-scale earthquake disaster.
